Facility Assessment & Renovations
Assessment to the classroom facility combined with renovations to 750-seat Auditorium, Gymnasium, & Natatorium buildings. Chemawa Indian School is the oldest continuously operating Native American Boarding School in the United States. The school draws students from all across the Pacific Northwest, Alaska and the Southwest. In 1970 the school moved to the current location on the 400 acre site with new brick buildings. The current enrollment of over 400 students range from grade nine through grade twelve. The buildings were suffering from water infiltration and needed significant remediation. The Natatorium, Gymnasium and Auditorium buildings were the first to be revitalized in a series of building renovations to improve the campus as a whole.
