Educational campuses, at their most basic level, are all about interaction between and among the students, faculty and staff. It is a unique domain for the exchange of information and values, as well as for individual growth and expression.

Every part of the campus plays a role in this interaction: the teaching and research spaces, the lattice of connecting and supporting spaces within the building, as well as the system of open spaces tying all the buildings together on campus. Each part must be thoughtfully designed to support and encourage this interaction.
